A 501(C)(4) STATEWIDE COALITION

Helping Oklahoma rank up

Oklahomans Partnering for Health is a 501(c)(4) coalition founded in 2025 by leaders of Oklahoma’s largest health systems and Oklahoma’s former senate leader to improve the state’s health ranking.

IT’S TIME WE FACE FACTS

Oklahoma is near the bottom of America's Health Rankings, but at Oklahomans Partnering for Health (OPFH), we believe it doesn’t have to be. Our coalition began when the leaders of INTEGRIS Health and St. Francis Health System joined forces with former Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat to help Oklahoma rank up. Since our founding, OPFH has brought in statewide partners across business, healthcare, education and public policy to improve Oklahoma’s health ranking.

The measures:
not what you think

In Oklahoma, we’re accustomed to “health” being nearly synonymous with issues like obesity, heart disease, smoking and diabetes. But these are a component of what impacts our rank. The real measures are incredibly diverse, surprising and – most importantly – things we can start changing today.

Why our rank matters

Oklahoma’s national health ranking is more than an abstract number. It affects three important pillars in our lives.

01

Your family

Whether it’s you or through someone you love, every Oklahoman feels the impact of poor state health outcomes. We can all benefit from improving our state’s health through a wide variety of different measures.

02

Our Workforce

Any employer will tell you that the health of their employees has a dramatic effect on productivity, recruitment, retention and the cost of providing competitive benefits. Helping Oklahoma rank up is good for employers and employees alike.

03

Our Economy

When large companies need to grow or relocate, health rankings factor into their decisions. Our rank informs the their impression of our state, affects funding opportunities and determines the health of employees they can hire.

Our Founders & Intentional Independence

Oklahomans Partnering for Health was founded by an unusual coalition. This founding group comprises Tim Pehrson, CEO of INTEGRIS Health; Cliff Robertson, MD, CEO of St. Francis Health System; and Greg Treat, founding Executive Director and former Oklahoma Senate President Pro Tempore.

This team of apparently competing health system CEOs – coupled with state government insights and experience from Senator Treat – is not only uncommon, it is also meaningful. It is clear evidence that Oklahomans Partnering for Health is just that: a true, independent partnership that sets aside business rivalries, political aspirations and competing interests to do what is in Oklahoma’s best interest.

“The corporation shall act on its own accord, distinct from and not in coordination with the Oklahoma Hospital Association or any other affiliated healthcare-focused lobbying entity.”
